Regarding a suggestion by Sir Alfred Crofton that one of the three native Regiments sent out for garrison duty & training should now be withdrawn:
the M.D. in agreeing to the arrangements proposed for winter manoeuvres in N. China, pointed out that they involved the detention in China of the Hongkong Regiment, and of companies of the Royal Welsh Fusiliers - portions of the approved Hong-Kong garrison.
